ASHA

What is ASHA?

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 182,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists, speech-language pathologists, speech-language scientists, and students. ASHA empowers professionals through advancing science, setting standards, fostering excellence in professional practice, and advocating for members and those they serve.

The ASHA Convention

Each year, ASHA holds a national convention for speech language pathologists, audiologists, speech language and hearing scientists, and students. With over 12,000 attendees, the Annual Convention provides opportunities to hear the latest research, network with the finest in the field, and gain new skills and resources.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, the 2020 ASHA Convention that was scheduled for November 18-23, 2020 in San Diego, California has been canceled.

The NSSLHA experience at the ASHA Convention

While most of the ASHA convention is geared towards practicing professionals, NSSLHA insures that students have many opportunities at the Convention. A graduate school fair and PhD Center are available for students to research and learn new ways of furthering their education. Additionally, the University of Cincinnati Chapter will participate in the knowledge bowl, regional roundup, education/clinical sessions, resume building sessions, and the annual NSSLHA honors ceremony.
