I hope you’ve had a wonderful first week back! Next Wednesday, January 17th from 4 pm-9 pm NSSLHA will be having a fundraiser at the Taste of Belgium! The location is 1135 Vine Street, Cincinnati OH. Taste of Belgium is donating 20% of orders to NSSLHA! You can take a night off from cooking and dining hall food to hang out with friends and grab a bite to eat! Just mention that you are there for NSSLHA. If you plan on attending, Taste of Belgium asks that you fill out the form below so they can have an idea of how many people will be ordering!

This is Emily Gelhausen! 

She is a second-year SLHS student on the three-year track! She has shown that she is dedicated to being an active member of the organization by attending meetings, socials, and volunteer events. Her hard work and dedication to the organization as well as the major doesn’t go unnoticed! 

Her favorite event this year has been the DEI book club, where we read and discussed  “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett! She is looking forward to hearing more awesome speakers and the CSD Banquet!

We hope that you had a wonderful winter break and a great first start to the spring semester! We will be having our monthly meeting on Thursday, January 18th at 6 pm in HSB Room G01. 

This one will be very exciting! We will be having 3 guest speakers at this meeting so the meeting may go until 7:30 pm. So please make your evening plans accordingly! Our guest speakers are Lisa Peterson and Sarah Kaskie who work at Children’s, discussing pediatric dysphagia. As well as, Amanda Montemayor at UCMC and Ascend Speech, discussing adult acute care and starting a private practice.

We hope you all are having a great first week of classes so far! Our first volunteer event for the semester is next week on Wednesday, January 17th from 7-8:30 PM. We will be playing Bingo with the residents at the Little Sisters of the Poor. It is going to be another fun night with the residents. We would love for you all to volunteer!
